* A twist of lemon in your glass of water is very refreshing, and good for you!
* Drink at least 8 glasses of water every single day of your life, and increase this amount when you are pregnant.
* Keep a bottle of water handy. If water is accessible at arms length, you tend to drink more.
* Avoid any drinks with artificial sweeteners. They're okay once in a while, but don't make a habit of them when pregnant.
* Water helps dissolve the stool, reducing chances of constipation.

Hello, I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and sometimes I like to drink chamomile tea at night with a little honey before bed to help me sleep. I dont drink it all the time but I have been looking on the interent and there are very mixed answers regarding if herbal tea is safe or not. I do work in a coffee shop but I have not drank caffeine since I found out I was pregnant. Ok except haivng coke with my popcorn at the movies last week. So does anyone know if herbal tea is ok to drink?

During pregnancy your blood volume will increase by forty percent and water is necessary for this process. Fluids are also needed to carry nutrients to cells and take waste products away. During pregnancy there is about one quart of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby and your body completely replaces that fluid every two to three hours! Proper hydration also helps you stay healthy by regulating your body temperature and aiding in digestion during pregnancy and helping to prevent constipation.

Pregnant women lose 2-3 quarts of water each day through perspiration and urination. More fluids are lost on hot days or during physical activity. It is important to stay hydrated and replace these lost fluids to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

I have heard that water is extremely helpful. I have two friends who just gave birth this weekend. They both drank lots of water and it seemed to help with swelling and hypertension.
Hope all goes well for you and you have a great pregnancy and delivery.
